How to Grieve When Words Fail Us

Losing someone is never easy.

Whether it was expected, sudden or otherwise, the entire process of death will always move us beyond words. Yes, words will be spoken, but we scatter on the emotional scale.

Some of us can hold it together… for a period of time… while others completely retreat. Some feel nothing and others feel the weight of the world. All reactions are expected and none are considered wrong.

However, at some point, there will be a time to grieve. It may even happen many times throughout our lives and while there may be someone we can turn towards, words will not help us in the moment.

When words begin to fail, say nothing.

Then let it all out — even if it doesn’t make sense.

It doesn’t need to be coherent as your heart knows what you’re trying to say.
