Accepting Criticism

Sometimes, criticism against you is warranted.

If you stepped out of line, purposefully or not, it’s important to get called out. It keeps your ego in check and reminds you of your own blind spots.

Constructive criticism is what helps you grow and allows you to become a better person every day. You don’t have to dwell on what was being levied against you; instead, you should appreciate it.

However, when people begin to criticize and insult you for reasons beyond your improvement… there’s nothing you can do with that. You can spend all your time being upset about it, or you can get back to doing good work.

As for the gossip that happens behind your back — promptly ignore it.

Accept criticism when it is constructive and for your own improvement.
Accept it when multiple people are saying it.

Ignore the rest.
