Death by a Thousand Papercuts

A bad decision can cause temporary grief and, in some instances, can be painful for a lengthy period of time.

However, when we reach a place of desperation, where the situation feels like rock bottom, it was never one bad decision that led us there. It was usually the cause of thousands of little decisions along the way.

A person doesn’t suddenly become overweight because they decided to have fast food one meal.
Nor does a house become a cluttered disaster because an item was left on the counter.

Regardless of the situation, the way out of it can be done in reverse. Instead of feeling the magnitude of what’s happened, start making little decisions in the opposite direction.

The results won’t happen overnight, but they’ll feel like a new life when they do.
