Just Write the Next Sentence

I’ve been writing every day for several years now.

I read about 2 books a week, speak with many people throughout my day, listen to podcasts and constantly reflect on the world…

yet most days I just don’t know what to write.

I look at the blank page and become unsure of myself, feeling like I have nothing to offer. On other days, there’s a lot going on in my head and I have no idea where to start.

Am I angry? Happy? Hopeful?

Most of these posts are conversations I’m having with myself as a form of encouragement. Sometimes I have a specific person in mind who I’ve been thinking about that day.

The only way I get through the writing (the posts plus the book projects) is to just write the next sentence. It’s the easiest way forward and makes the task seem less overwhelming.

Just write the next sentence.

Then the one after that.

Keep going.

All of life, one sentence at a time.
