Life’s Greatest Revenge

The best revenge in life isn’t to make another person miserable. My wager is the reason this person who targets others is probably miserable in the first place, which is why they want to spread it around.

Misery loves company.

Ignoring them is also a bad idea because the annoyance doesn’t go away. It keeps coming until a reaction occurs and provoking a reaction is a form of power.

Instead, the best revenge you can offer is to show your happiness.

The more you show happiness with your own life, the more it shines a light on the insecurities of the other person. It will upset them, cause them to fight even further to bring you down, then they go away to target someone else.

Happiness shouldn’t be confused with being a doormat — nobody should be in a position to walk all over, or take advantage, of you.

Instead, it should be a deep seated emotion that cannot be shaken by the fleeting annoyances of those who will never be satisfied.
