Looking for What You Already Have

Why, when we just acquire something, do we immediately start searching for something else?

It’s this running script to which we’ve been programmed telling us to seek just a little more. Even if it’s what we want, all we need and is more than we can really use, we still go searching.

If we were to dig deep, there’s a nagging voice that perpetuates this desire and it’s the eternal question of humanity:

What if?

Marketers have done a tremendous job of amplifying that seed of doubt within us so we are always seeking the next best thing… or even just the next thing. It’s a fear of missing out and being left out.

To rise above this question is to realize we can spend an entire lifetime weighing options and wondering what we’re missing out on. It’s up to us to be courageous enough to take what we have and say, “this is enough.”

Then, when it’s time for a change, it will be on your terms.
