I always look up to my mentors to seek guidance in how to proceed.
What tools are they using? How would they tackle a problem? What would they suggest?
These are the people I’m trying to emulate, so it would make sense to follow their advice without imitating them completely. The hope is to forge my own path that runs parallel alongside theirs.
However, it’s necessary to stop and ask a question:
Is there another way?
Am I too caught up in a tunnel vision of how things should be that I fail to see the multitude of paths others have created as well? Maybe there’s something to learn if I’m willing to lift my head up and see what else others have done.
It’s a good question to ask ourselves.
