It’s hard to care for someone when you’re exhausted.
Running yourself into the ground, or being physically and mentally taxed, drives you to the point where you’re just done caring. You want to be there for someone, to be attentive to them and to really care for their needs… but it’s just so hard when you’re so tired.
When you stop caring, people start moving away from you.
While the obvious solution is to take care of yourself and get some rest, that advice always seems to come from people who are speaking from a mountaintop. Sometimes they know what you’re feeling, but you already knew that’s what you needed to do before they even suggested it.
Yes, it’s time to recharge and get some rest.
However, something has to give.
Perhaps that something is your admittance to needing someone to care for you… even if that person is yourself.
