Putting All Your Eggs in One Basket

I’m always at a loss of where to store my writing.

Currently, I write all my posts for this site on Google Keep and transfer them over here every day. My logic was simple – Keep is a service I can access anywhere, including my phone, and can always bring up wherever I am.

That’s all fine and dandy until it goes down, which it did today. All my posts are currently locked up on Google’s servers until it comes back up. Serves me right for putting all my eggs in one basket.

What am I to do?

Start on another post and keep the groove going. Yes, it was not the brightest idea to keep (haha – pun) everything in an online service… especially if it (or my Internet) goes down… but that should never be a detriment to keep going.

Putting all your eggs in one basket is a dangerous game, no matter where you play it.

It could be your job, your investments, your focus in life… all in one basket.

Some people lose all their computer files because they don’t backup at all. Many people lost a lot of money in the 2008 recession. Some people lost their jobs because they refused to upgrade or diversify their skills.

What are you to do?

Pick up and keep going. Get a few more baskets on the way.
