It’s November, which means I take part in the Novel Writing Month challenge.
Every year, I recruit a group of students who are willing to put the pedal to the metal in blasting out an entire novel in a month. It’s fun being able to write alongside them as their excitement, imagination and passion for being writers bleeds into what I do.
My November stories always seem to be the most fun to write and likewise, the most fun to read.
This year I’m doing it again and to help my students out, I show them my rough process by posting what I write every day on Wattpad.
However, it’s been a rough start to the month. The last week (as evidenced by the silence of my site) has been a tough one between the demands of work and family.
My writing muscle has atrophied slightly and I’m finding it hard to get back on track. The stopping and restarting of writing is no stranger to any long-term writer (goodness I’ve done it enough already), but this time has been particularly taxing.
Please bear with me this month as I find my groove again.
The joy of being around others who share your passion (regardless of age) is being fueled by the energy to continue onwards.
I will always be thankful for that.
