Ever have an argument with someone in your head over an event that never happened?
You imagine someone doing something to you and then get into it with this person, getting heated about the transgression… that never actually happened. Or maybe something minor happened and you turned it into something major in your head.
Letting it fester inside of your mind causes physical stress. Your body doesn’t know the difference.
Next time it happens, pay attention and see if there’s any part of you getting tense. It could be in your shoulders… your jaw… your breath… just pay attention.
Now ask yourself how often this happens and consider how often your body goes into stress mode.
The argument isn’t real, but you’re making it a reality. Let it go.
