Paying attention to other people is easy and enjoyable. It’s also a way of avoiding the hard work of taking a close look at ourselves.
Perhaps we’re bored or unsettled, but looking at what others are doing and being disgusted (or envious) is a form of pacification. Looking beneath our surface and digging through the layers we’ve created over the years, we discover there’s a lot going on.
We suddenly become aware of the support we need.
We realize the only time we should be paying attention to other people is when we act to support them on their journey in life.
Anything else is a waste of time.
