Work in Bursts

It’s easy to think more work can get done if you put your head down and keep going.

There’s enough research to show this is not effective and has diminishing returns after fatigue kicks in.

The brain is a muscle. It needs to rest and it needs exercise.

Regularly stretching it to its limit and then resting will help expand your capacity for concentration.

Then, when it comes time to work, bursts of work with periodic breaks (think interval training) will help you get inordinate amounts of important work done.
