You Can’t Build What You Tear Down

Giving a person the tools to tear apart a house, then asking them to build one based on what they learned from doing so seems silly.

Yet, we like to deconstruct works of art as a way of understanding how to create it ourselves.

Same thing goes for institutions and societies.

If you want to learn how to create something new, you must get into the practice of creating.

Learn from others by enjoying their work, then practice it yourself.

It’s the only way something new will come.
