An Ego Too Fragile to Break

An oxymoron of a headline to describe a group of people who have an insatiable need to always be right.

They may even go out of their way to prove you wrong, or make you look stupid, in any capacity just to defend their extreme insecurities. Should you ever puncture through and call them out, they mark you an enemy for life.

We all know people like this and while our instinct is to roll our eyes and ignore them, it won’t stop them from continuing their tirades.

Instead, they can be neutralized by the following line:

“I feel sorry for you.”

Don’t explain it, don’t justify it — just keep repeating it.

Mean it each time you say it.

Their ego will go into overdrive to prevent  itself from breaking… then it will shatter.

The end result will be someone who becomes self-reflective, or that person will leave you alone.

Always hope for the former.
