Art Was Never Easy

Creating art has never been an easy endeavour.

The artists of the past, regardless of the medium, all struggled with finding a voice, a muse and recognition. While social class certainly helped, it wasn’t always an indicator of future success.

Art still required sacrifice.

The tools of today are significantly better, not even touching upon the ability to leverage a platform that can reach the entire world, but that doesn’t make it easier. It only gives the perception of ease because the tool itself is easier to use.

There is still a need to struggle, to practice, to connect and to sacrifice.

Art demands a lot from the person. It was never easy. It still isn’t.
