Perfection Is Not Attainable

There is no use having an end goal in mind as the journey there does not culminate in your satisfaction.

Perfection is the trait by which we measure ourselves against, with the assumption it requires set goals to its path.

The issue lies in actually getting to the goal, only to discover the flagpole for what you desire has changed once again.

This endless cycle would be a lesson easily learned if not for the second measurement tool by which we decide upon perfection: others.

Our virtual surroundings inundate us with the lifestyles of others who barrage us with endless quips about their wonderful lives. This upsets us at a gut level because the pangs of jealousy are difficult to ignore.

What we never see, or rarely in the instances of a few brave souls, are the hardships faced in every moment beyond what is posted for our eyes. It’s not genuine.

This brings us back to the endless desire for some sort of perfection in our own lives, which turns itself into misery.

How can we attain something that is not achievable?

Perfection doesn’t exist – not in us and not in others.

What we should really strive for is to love the process by which we do all things. The journey is where we find fulfillment.
