Politics and Religion

“I don’t like to talk about politics or religion.”

That’s not true.

Everybody likes to talk about politics and religion. What they don’t like is to talk to people who have very different views from themselves. They also don’t like the arguments that come out of it because it will inevitably happen.

Even if two people agree on the topics, there’s still going to be an argument. That’s just the nature of the beast.

The other issue is we don’t like being pegged as a certain type of person for presenting our views on the topics. We have to spend time justifying our stance before we can continue.

However, the one thing those topics can do is bring passion to a conversation. It’s a refresher from the shallow content people normally talk about.
