Selective Hearing

It’s something fun to joke about until the message being said is only selectively tuned into.

Fragments put together to appease the bias of the person on the receiving end.

We are no longer hearing, but listening to affirm our own worldview. We hear only the points that will enrage our senses or confirm what we want to know.

Points of clarification do not even matter afterwards. We’ve already heard the supposed message.

In a world where being misunderstood can produce serious ramifications, we would do well on two fronts:

To hear correctly and to communicate with clarity.
