Taking an Extra Minute

There’s an appreciation for someone taking an extra minute with us. Even though the gesture may be tiny, or the time short, it’s an obvious intention they’re going out of their way for you.

Even when we’re caught in a line because the same care is being done with others, the frustration and impatience wears off when it’s our turn.

We’re accelerating towards more “efficient” processes, enabled by technology, which is a pejorative way of telling us slow is bad and we shouldn’t take any more time than absolutely necessary. Now, this extra minute becomes an invaluable commodity we are happy to receive.

It’s not just a pride in their work, but a respect for you as a person.

This is something to consider for when it’s our turn to reciprocate.
