There comes a point where you are at a different stage than those around you.
At first, it seems isolating as your values have shifted in a new direction while others have either remained the same or taken a new course. It can give a feeling of loneliness at the best of times.
This is a moment of realization and the transition into discovering a new circle of people who now share your values. This takes some time.
In the meantime, there is still the attachment to those you are separating from and for the best of reasons, you offer to open their eyes to your way of thinking. This often results in headaches, heartaches and frustration as they continue to remain stagnant (or vigilant) in their current state.
It’s important to understand nothing can be forced and little can be done to uproot someone who fails to see why they should leave their soil. This, too, is a moment of realization and takes much longer than the previous one.
Patience and compassion are key when this realization sets in.
