The Payoff Isn’t Always Immediate

If someone is going to be putting up their work, there is an expectation of some benefit to them in exchange. This is a fair assessment, but where it goes wrong is the timeline.

There is an expectation today the exchange will be immediate.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing many talented magicians who all want to crack the top echelon of magic with their own stage and/or television show. They all have dreams of making it big.

Few will get there and the ones who do (or have) are the ones who have hustled non-stop… day after day… month after month… year after year. They built relationships, gave away their material, took less-then-stellar gigs, expanded their reach and stretched out into areas beyond their comfort zone.

In other words, they’ve given everything to make it happen and they are reaping the rewards of their efforts.

There is no overnight success and there are no people at “the top” who haven’t put in extraordinary amounts of effort to get there…

way more than sometimes they are even willing to admit.

The world doesn’t owe anybody for their efforts, but there will always be a payoff at some point down the road.
